Hilarious Honey Badger Caption

From honey badger

Honey Badger Don't Care

Sometimes I think "The Honey Badger Does Care".

Facebook Skype Announcement

I just read the announcement that Facebook has reached a deal with Skype.

I am a little bit concerned.

Facebook itself is a pretty solid application; however, the amount of security that goes into making sure that people have private communications with Skype is not exactly rock solid.

I'm worried that people will be able to monitor Skype conversations using Facebook. Now, I realize that the majority of Skype is ridiculous, meretricious behavior - like Twitter, it's mostly personal garbage. No one cares if you're posting pictures of your cat online.

However, the principle of online anonymity keeps shrinking as technology advances. I suppose that some people would say that this is the natural course of a technological society.

Great, more cats. More constant texting and updates.

One other issue about this is the HTML5. That's the new standard (should be for at least another year or so, IMHO). I think this is sort of like flying the Concorde for the first time. Skype is a bandwidth-intensive program, it needs a robust infrastructure to be able to function.

Christian and Not Self-conscious About it

Yeah, I went to church camp when I was a kid. Had a blast.

I think there's a weird strain of Codependent Christians out there who find more fun in blaming other people for problems than actually living their lives.

I suppose today that I'm much more of a Unitarian, open to other religions and sharing and caring.

Fundamentalists might say that this is just a form of agnosticism; I suppose that's true.

However, belief in a Supernatural being that owns the universe is a huge idea. Monotheism itself is a strange concept.

What's stopping us from believing in Animism or any other aboriginal belief system? It's social pressure.

Social pressure, I contend, is behind both the new aggressive atheism, and the aggressive 21st-century Christian cults.

Honestly, who cares what other people think about your religion? Americans cannot discriminate against religion (or, sometimes, lack of) for jobs.

Although, I guess you wouldn't want an atheist or anti-theist as a camp counselor at church camp.

#goseeksomehelp

I think that #goseeksomehelp is unfortunately very funny.

I suggest #poorbastard, or perhaps #unluckysob.

Although, #soytanforeveralone makes me think of people dousing themselves in soysauce and tanning themselves.

SOY TAN FOREVER! Alone...

Muska Skytops size 9.5 around $100?

I saw those new Muska Skytops online on Activerideshop.com. They're also on Zumiez for around a hundred.

I'm not a big fan of Supras. I like hightops, and I like Muska.

Leapforce?

I applied for Leapforce today. So far they sent me a confirmation email. I guess I'll wait for the application process to begin.

I believe there's an exam, then a vetting process.

From what I read online, they ask for a 6 month contract, and pay around $13 per hour. The tasks are simple, but the best thing about it is that I can work from home.

I like making money online, and I feel like it's a huge supplement to my income. Times is rough, as they say.

Palystation network down

I am so glad that I didn't sign up for the playstation network right now.

After all the controversy and crap, I think that the entertainment value I would have received from being on the playstation network is overshadowed by the risk of id theft.

I shouldn't be playing video games anyway, I should be working on something or turking.

Nancy Grace is Annoying

Personally, I think Nancy Grace is annoying. She always has annoying guests on. Yada yada legal opinions.

If you're not a law student learning something from the cases, then it's vicarious rubbernecking. I never understood why people get off on watching law porn.

I much prefer to watch something funny, such as the Daily Show or Colbert.

I really don't even like the CNN talk shows. I remember back in the day, they had a 24-7 news stream. I suppose that the internet has replaced CNN as a source of news media.

Furthermore, I suppose that Facebook/Twitter are easier sources of news information. Anything that is important will be distributed immediately on Twitter to your friends.

For example, a hashtag replaces the need for immediate coverage.

Although, the problem with crowdsourcing is that the quality of news coverage goes down dramatically. Secondly, the amount of psychological bias can be increased because there's no threat of legal action against an individual for slander.
